Doctors & patients are saying about 'Beat Your A-Fib'...

"If I had [your book] 10 years ago, it would have saved me 8 years of hell.”

Roy Salmon, Patient, A-Fib Free,
Adelaide, Australia

"This book is incredibly complete and easy-to-understand for anybody. I certainly recommend it for patients who want to know more about atrial fibrillation than what they will learn from doctors...."

Pierre Jaïs, M.D. Professor of Cardiology, Haut-Lévêque Hospital, Bordeaux, France

"Dear Steve, I saw a patient this morning with your book [in hand] and highlights throughout. She loves it and finds it very useful to help her in dealing with atrial fibrillation."

Dr. Wilber Su,
Cavanaugh Heart Center,
Phoenix, AZ

"...masterful. You managed to combine an encyclopedic compilation of information with the simplicity of presentation that enhances the delivery of the information to the reader. This is not an easy thing to do, but you have been very, very successful at it."

Ira David Levin, heart patient,
Rome, Italy

"Within the pages of Beat Your A-Fib, Dr. Steve Ryan, PhD, provides a comprehensive guide for persons seeking to find a cure for their Atrial Fibrillation."

Walter Kerwin, MD, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA

Personal Experiences: A-Fib Patients Share Stories of Hope and Encouragement

By category:

Other A-Fib patients have been where you are right now. Dozens have agreed to share their personal experience (starting with the Steve Ryan’s story in 1998). Each story is told in their own words. Many stories span years, even decades. Symptoms will vary, and treatments choices run the full gamut.

Each author tells their story to offer you hope, to encourage you, and to bolster your determination to seek a life free of A-Fib. Many writers have included their email address if you want to contact them directly. Note: You’ll need to replace the ‘(at)’ with the ‘@’ (this helps protect from spamming).

Note: Patients sharing their personal experiences are often quite frank about the treatments received, their doctors and medical centers; their opinions are their own.

HOW TO SELECT A STORY

Listed by Posting Order: With over ninety-five stories, you probably won’t want to read them all. So, if you wish to read the most recent stories see the Listed by Posting Orderpage. Personal experiences are posted in descending (reverse) order by date written (or received). You’ll see my own story at the bottom of the list (#1 from 2002). Click on the title of the story you want to read to jump directly to the page with that personal experience.

Have an A-Fib story to share? It can be your own story or perhaps your spouse, parent or sibling. Read how to write and submit your A-Fib story

Listed by Subject: If you wish to read stories on a specific subject see the page titled Listed by Subject’. We have a few major categories: by Cause, by Risk Factor, by Symptom, by Age group/Years with A-Fib, and by Treatment. Each category has several subcategories. (Stories have many facets; therefore a story may appear in more than one category.) Browse the categories to select a story, then click on a story number to jump directly to the page with that personal experience.

HAVE A STORY TO SHARE?
