"If I had [your book] 10 years ago, it would have saved me 8 years of hell.”

Roy Salmon, Patient, A-Fib Free,

Pierre Jaïs, M.D. Professor of Cardiology, Haut-Lévêque Hospital, Bordeaux, France

"Dear Steve, I saw a patient this morning with your book [in hand] and highlights throughout. She loves it and finds it very useful to help her in dealing with atrial fibrillation."

Dr. Wilber Su,

"...masterful. You managed to combine an encyclopedic compilation of information with the simplicity of presentation that enhances the delivery of the information to the reader. This is not an easy thing to do, but you have been very, very successful at it."

"Within the pages of Beat Your A-Fib, Dr. Steve Ryan, PhD, provides a comprehensive guide for persons seeking to find a cure for their Atrial Fibrillation."

2025 AF Symposium Challenging Cases: Predicting the Origin of Non-PV Triggers

Dr. Francis Marchlinski

Dr. Francis Marchlinski of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, was introduced as the leading researcher in non-PV triggers to improve the outcome of A-Fib ablation.

He began by talking about the case of a 74-year-old woman who developed Paroxysmal A-Fib in 2015. She was treated with the beta blocker Sotalol, then switched to the antiarrhythmic drugs Propafenone and Flecainide because of recurrence of her A-Fib.

Later, she developed infrequent but persistent A-Fib which required cardioversions.

Mapping non-PV triggers

Paroxysmal A-Fib—One Non-PV Trigger

This lead to her first ablation. Her Pulmonary Veins (PVs) were isolated and they found one non-PV trigger…

<Continue reading how Dr. Marchlinski used his innovative algorithms to locate and treat these non-PV triggers.>
