2025 AF Symposium: How AI Locates A-Fib Non-PVI Triggers
For A-Fib patients, non-Pulmonary Vein (PVs) triggers are especially hard for the electrophysiologist (EP) to locate when performing catheter ablations. That’s where the vMap system is an important advancement for treating Atrial Fibrillation.

At the 2025 AF Symposium, Dr. Anish Amin of the OhioHealth Heart & Vascular Group, Columbus, Ohio gave a presentation about the vMap system (Vektor Medical).
The vMap system uses a patient’s 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) to locate the source(s) of the A-Fib signals especially non-PV triggers. Then the Artificial Intelligent-enabled system (AI) does the mapping. This is a non-invasive process—all done without entering the patient’s heart via a catheter like current mapping systems!
