Dr. Wilber Su, Cavanaugh Heart Center in Phoenix, AZ, recently emailed me with an update on his experience with the CryoBalloon ablation catheter.
…average procedure time is less than one hour from the time of access…
Dr. Su wrote, “I have now done over 1,400 CryoBalloon procedures. The average procedure time for the four vein isolation is less than one hour from the time of access, and the fluoro count is less than three minutes. The ‘within-24-hour discharge success’ rate has been 99%. The success rate for paroxysmal is on average about 85% across 15 centers we track.
This CryoBalloon data, along with our new understanding of the long-term outcomes, will soon be published as the RADIOCOOL trial”, Dr. Su added.
